Angry Birds Delicious in Dungeon (also known as Angry Birds Dungeon Meshi) (also abbreviated as ABDID/ABDM) was a game developed by Rovio, Netflix, and Studio Trigger, based off of the popular manga/anime written by Ryoko Kui, the anime in particular also animated by Studio Trigger. The game was announced to high hopes and released with high acclaim, some saying it’s the best Angry Birds game of the 20XXs. Praised for the darker themes of its source material.

Plot[]

After Laios’ party falls at the hands of the Red Dragon, his sister Falin has been eaten! He along with his party must venture back down into the dungeon to rescue her, but without any food how will they survive? By eating the monsters of course! But there’s more to this story than meets the eye…

Gameplay[]

ABDID’s gameplay is like your average run of the mill Angry Birds Slingshot game (flinging birds toppling down structures etc.), it’s gameplay is rooted mostly like Angry Birds Star Wars II, with the ability icons next to the birds/pigs when they’re idle (this is of course toggleable, and you can turn it off if you’d like). The characters can also be used to replace the current character on the slingshot in a level, this is of course limited and you must buy more characters with coins (coming in 3, 5, 10, 50 and Infinity Packs), which are available throughout the levels, in achievements, and in app purchases.

Each Slingshottable character has a goal of a specific number of points needed to unlock a Reward Level set on the surface, you can use these levels to practice with said character and improve your skills on using their abilities, upon reaching a star goal in their bonus levels can grant you more of that character to use in levels, possibly even giving you an infinite amount of said character. (Take note that Surface levels have 4 Stars instead of 3).

Chapters and Levels[]

Each chapter has a set of 25-30 levels, currently there are only the first two floors, and the reward chapter.

Chilchuck Bird Chilchuck Touden Party

Swings his Axe
“There’s not much I can say about myself, I’ve been in this dungeon for a long time now learning on how to properly prepare the monsters of the dungeon into fine meals. I, Senshi, believe in taking only what is needed, and giving back what I take.”

”…on second note that is quite a lot”

Falin Pig Falin Touden Party
Magic Power Type

“Her consumption is whats driving the three to go back down the levels and slay the Red Dragon, Marcille seems especially fond of her. If what I’ve heard about Falin is true than she must be a pure soul.”

These guys can be tasty, the head legs and especially the stinger should be removed first though, and don’t worry. It may have a snout, but it is most certainly not a pig.”

Notes[]

  • Although the different types of species (Tall-Men, Half-Foot, etc.) couldn’t be portrayed accurately as birds and pigs, measures were taken to ensure that they still looked visually distinct from each other.
  • Both Birds and Pigs are characters that can be slingshotted in this game, without separation like in Angry Birds Star Wars 2.
